Concerts & Repertoire |
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Yale Concert Band made virtual recordings rather than live concerts. The first was the recording of the March from Symphonic Metamorphoses on Themes by Carl Maria von Weber by Paul Hindemith, arr. Keith L. Wilson. The excellent finished product was streamed online for two months.
The second semester project was a virtual recording of one of the Yale Band’s commissioned pieces, Roma by Valerie Coleman. The piece addressed the sounds of itinerant peoples–the Roma.
Recordings by the Yale Concert Band were featured at Yale’s live commencement.
The Yale Concert Band recording of Thomas C. Duffy’s piece, Butterflies and Bees!, was selected as the opening and closing music for President Peter Salovey’s podcast series: “Yale Talk: Conversations with President Peter Salovey.” https://president.yale.edu/president/yale-talk-conversations-president-peter-salovey
