Yale Bands Saxophone Quartet “Pop-up Concerts” – Fall 2020

The Yale Bands Saxophone Quartet is made up of saxophonists from the Yale Concert Band. This year’s members are Michael Chen, Nick DeWalt, Alina Martel, and Sahil Mane, all of whom are students of Yale School of Music Professor of Saxophone Carrie Koffman. Nick DeWalt and Sahil Mane
Nick DeWalt  is a senior in Saybrook College majoring in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry. Sahil Mane is a first year in Trumbull College.  They performed their concert this fall on Yale’s Cross Campus.

Michael Chen
Michael Chen is a sophomore in Grace Hopper College majoring in Math and Philosophy. He performed his concerts on October 18 and 23 near his home in upstate New York, where he studied remotely this fall. 

Alina Martel
Alina Martel is a sophomore in Trumbull College majoring in neuroscience. She plays saxophone in all three Yale bands — the Yale Concert Band (for which she also serves as Personnel Manager), the Yale Jazz Ensemble, and the Yale Precision Marching Band. She performed her October 23 “Neighborhood Sax Recital” at her home in Minnesota, where she studied remotely this fall.
