Yale Precision Marching Band Audition Information

So you want to play with the Yale Precision Marching Band?

Everyone has been practicing their instruments all summer in preparation for Marching Band auditions. (Yeah, right.)

Never fear, there’s a place for everyone in the YPMB!

Are you an instrumentalist? We want you.

Are you a non-instrumentalist or a techie? We want you.

Are you a beginning instrumentalist? We want you. 

Are you a YPMB veteran? We want you back.

Audition requirements for new and returning instrumentalists and aspiring instrumentalists:
1. Please download and prepare the excerpt (below) for your instrument for Bulldog (from Entrance Medley) and Down The Field  (Trio only).
(Don’t worry if you can’t play everything. We’re most interested in getting an idea of your range and skill level so we can balance the band and arrange music that is sensitive to all of the instrumental skill levels in the band.)

2. Make a simple phone recording of your performance of these two pieces.

3. Fill out this Google form, which contains a link to upload your audition video.

Upload deadlines:
Tuesday, Aug. 27 (unless you need to sign out an instrument to make this recording)
Friday, August 30 (if you need to sign out an instrument to make this recording, you may do so between 1:00pm and 4:00 pm on Tuesday, Aug. 27 during registration)
