Yale Concert Band "Pre-Commute Mini-Concert" for the Yale Community

Our students want you to hear them play in the Yale Concert Band, without you having to come back to campus after a long day of work! Announcing the “Pre-Commute Mini-Concert” on Tuesday, February 21 at 5:15 p.m. – a 45-minute free concert in Woolsey Hall at the end of the work day.

Yale Concert Band Special Concert, Thomas C. Duffy, Music Director. Works by Duffy, composer and Director of Yale University Bands since 1982, to celebrate his 40th year at Yale University. Feat. “Butterflies and Bees!,” “Power and Light,” “A+,” “Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel,” “And Flights of Angels Sing Thee to Thy Rest,” and a special showing of the Yale Concert Band’s 1993 performance of “Whispers of the Patriots,” Walter Cronkite, narrator.

Featuring “Overture to Candide” (Leonard Bernstein), “Danzón” (Arturo Marqúez), “Second Suite in F for Military Band” (Gustav Holst), “Three Negro Dances”(Florence Price), “Folk Suite” (William Grant Still), “Miške (In the Forest)” (M.K. Čiurlionis), and “Keeping Step With the Union” (John Philip Sousa).
Admission is currently limited to asymptomatic, vaccinated Yale community (faculty, staff and enrolled students). Concert attendance policies will be determined as we approach each event.
