Our students want you to hear them play in the Yale Concert Band, without you having to come back to campus after a long day of work! Announcing the “Pre-Commute Mini-Concert” on Tuesday, February 21 at 5:15 p.m. – a 45-minute free concert in Woolsey Hall at the end of the work day.

George Gershwin’s “An American in Paris” and Duffy’s “A Parisian in America,” “Frozen Flames March,” “Crystals,” “Century Shouts,” “To the Horizon,” “And Flights of Angels Sing Thee to Thy Rest,” and Duffy’s transcription of Alan Hovhaness’ “Fantasy on Japanese Woodprints,” Alex Wynn TD ‘22, marimba.
Yale Jazz Ensemble Big Band, Wayne Escoffery, Music Director. Celebrating the centennial of the birth of bassist and composer Charles Mingus, one of the most important composers in jazz and the first African American musician to have the entire body of his work acquired by the Library or Congress.
Featuring Mingus hits “Nostalgia in Times Square,” “Goodbye Pork Pie Hat,” “Moanin’,” and more. With guests Teddy Horangic on vocals and Alaman Diadhiou on vocals and tap dance.
